We would like to commend one of your employees who we feel went “above and beyond” while carrying out her duties as a nurse in the Radiology Department on Monday, April 27, 2009
Ms. Sheri was working when my husband, Gene was scheduled for a CT scan with contras and biopsy of his left kidney. Due to the high creatinine level my husband is experiencing, we know the contrast solution could possible damage the kidneys to the point of renal failure, but we had never been told there was something that might help lessen the damage. Sheri took it upon herself to contact our doctor and ask if it would be a good idea for my husband to be given the medication (acetylcysteine) for this.
Later in the day, Sheri made time to check on my husband in his room on the second floor before he was released from the hospital and made sure we understood the additional doses of medication he was to take. She also made another call to our doctor when there was a question.
We have yet to learn whether there was any serious damage done to my husband’s kidneys, but we feel better just knowing something was done that might minimize it.
It is employees like Sheri that help make your facility exceptional and we want you to know how much we appreciate her.
